Good Luck!!

I would like to congratulate everyone who passes this term!!! I enjoyed working with you all, and I have learned so much from each of you. I also enjoyed all the feedback and responses that I had received. I enjoyed this course, it has helped me become a better writer than I was before. I do see some improvements, and I still feel I could learn more about writing. I hear practice makes perfect, I will definitely apply that to my writing.
Professor Feraldi, you are a great teacher, I appreciate you working with me and helping me through this course. I would like to wish everyone from here on out the best of luck with everything. Thank you all!

My Final Paper

I am very excited to say that my final paper is almost done! I am also very stressed out about it at the same time; it scares me to know that my work will be graded. I have a pretty good feeling about the information I was able to provide, but when it comes to editing and revising I know that is my troubled area. I plan on having others around me take a good look at it to see what they think needs to be changed. I will be more at ease when I am completely finished with my paper. I have spent all of my precious time on it and can’t wait to see how well I did. I honestly feel really good about my paper, I have put a lot of thought and research into it. I am also very exhausted with it trying to find great useful information, and putting everything together to where it makes sense. I would also have to say that at this point I feel the same about writing as I did before. I am not the greatest at it, and it takes more of my time trying to get it right. Although, I did enjoy writing about bloodborne pathogens, it is a very interesting subject that every medical professional should have the knowledge about before working in a medical workplace.
I wish you all the best of luck with your paper. I was great to meet you all and I enjoyed working with you. Some of you have taught me a few things and have given me some great feedback I appreciate everything, you are all truly great!

Revising

When I first started to revise my paper I of course did not know what all needed to be fixed. I then turned to others around me to look at my paper, and not everyone knew or had any ideas on what needed to be changed. I did get some help from a few others and some from myself. It was a little challenging for me to do, and I still think I have a few problems; I’m just not exactly sure. I like posting my paper for everyone else to look at and give me some ideas, it helps me a lot. I do not take all feedback negatively. I try to look at like people are trying to help by giving me some ideas on what needs to be changed or taken out. I especially like feedback from the professors that is what is important. If a professor tells me that something is wrong, needs to be added or taken out, or even changed, it helps me to think harder at what I could do to make this a better paper. Getting feedback from anyone is important to me. I hope you all got some great feedback for ideas on your paper as well. Good luck to you all on writing a great paper!

Peer Review

I like peer reviews, I think it is a great way to get lots of feedback. Positive or negative feedback is always helpful as long as the reviewer is not just degrading my work. When I review someone's work and try to give the most positive feedback I can. When I find something wrong I try to let them know first how good of a job they did, then mention what could be changed and give some suggestions. Then I would remind them on how good of a job they did. My fiancé calls this a compliment sandwich lol.
I tend to take negative feedback the best that I can, sometimes it is hard if all someone is doing is degrading your work instead of telling you what needs to be fixed or changed, and then giving some suggestions. I do not expect everyone to always like my work and only say positive things about my work.
This week has been better than the last few weeks. Working on my paper has stressed me out, I tend to think I have to work and work until it’s pleasing to me and I can be pretty hard on myself. Although, I am glad the draft is over and the hard part is out of the way. I am now anxious to see what feedback I get for my draft so that I can make some changes to get the draft perfect enough to finish off the whole paper. I hope everyone had a great week! ;)

Writing Papers

While I was writing my paper over bloodborne pathogen risks for healthcare workers I started to get stressed out and frustrated because this is a type of subject that needs lots of information and facts. I was able to find plenty of information but mostly the same facts in almost every article I found. Most of my paper consisted of common knowledge and some good facts. It is a very interesting subject to get started on, especially for those the work in a medical work place. I am going to college to be a Medical Assistant and that is why I chose to write about bloodborne pathogens. I think it is something all medical professionals should know more about. This is a great thing to read and gain knowledge on.
I would have to say this has been the most stressful week I have had while attending college like dealing with stuff such as school, taking care of finances, bills, cleaning, and the countless errands that need to be run on a daily basis. Trying to fit in this paper to my schedule has been really tough on me this week, but I do think it has made me stronger of a person. I am more scheduled that I have ever been. I plan to become better at writing papers and becoming more organized. I hope everyone has a great week!

My Writing

Personally I don't think I am the best writer but I do believe I have gotten a lot better at it. To be quite honest I had never written a paper before until I started here at Kaplan. I have learned many different ways to get prepared for writing a paper. I have tried just about every writing technique to see which I one I was better with. I personally like to free write it allows me to get whatever it is on my mind onto paper a lot faster. From there I can find information to back up my ideas and make it a stronger paper. I like using the outline a lot because to me it’s a better structure for whatever you are going to write and it is easy to follow. I would have to say that writing would have to be my biggest academic challenge, but I have learned to get over my fears and be able to take negative feedback about my writing. I know I’m not the greatest writer but I have made great improvements. I still have a hard time with writing from time to time, just knowing that I am being graded on it. I always try to do my best and that's why I think I was able to take on this challenge and improve in it.
I do feel school has great influences in my life. Every since I started college I have made many great changes in my life style.  I am more focused on getting my degree so that I can financially take better care of my child and mostly so that my fiancĂ© doesn’t have to work out of town anymore to support us. Going back to school has allowed me to focus more on what is more important in life. I am definitely glad to be where I am today.

Plagiarism

If someone took my hard work and claimed it as his/her own I would be pretty upset. I wouldn't know the correct way to handle it, but I would go to my teacher, or boss (depending on where this has taken place). I would simply just inform the leader that I think this person has stolen my work and is claiming it as his/her own. I personally would not take credit for someone else’s work; I wouldn't want it to happen to me. I think it is very important to cite your sources, not only because it gives the original writer credit for his/her own work but it also gives the reader the ability to see who wrote it and are able to look at more information about what the original writers knowledge about the topic. I have heard about a college student once who got dismissed from the school for plagiarism. This student was to write a paper on a chosen topic, and the student was too lazy to write his/her own paper. The student then went online and copied a whole paper to claim as his/her own. After this paper was turned into the professor, the professor then began to realize that this paper that the student turned in was his (the professor) paper. The student in my opinion was dumb enough to steal a paper to claim as his/her own and not even check out who wrote it. This student was penalized and thrown out of college. This act of plagiarism will stay on this student’s record and will not receive any credits from the school. I believe the proper action was taken on this student.
